Dit Cheung

 

Dit Cheung is currently the committee chair of Troop 255 in Queens, N.Y. He is also a member of the District Committee of the Founders District and the District Commissioner. He has been actively participating in Scouting for the last twenty three years – first as a den leader, the cub master, then the scoutmaster of Troop 255. He has been awarded the Cub Master Award, the Scoutmaster Key Award, the District Award of Merit, and the Silver Beaver Award from BSA. He also earned his third Woodbadge beads in 2008.

Mr. Cheung is a chemical engineer by training. He retired after 33 years of service as an environmental manager for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Currently he is helping his wife, Louisa, to run a trophy store in Flushing. They have two children. Son, Karl, an Eagle Scout, is recently admitted to the NYS and NJS Bar Associations. Daughter, Elaine, is the deputy chief of staff for City Councilman Peter Koo, also a Girl Scout Leader of the Ambassador troop with 5 Gold Medalists under her leadership.
