Alex Kalaf

 

Alex Kalaf is a lifelong Queens resident. Having grown up in Forest Hills, he currently resides in Middle Village. He attended Forest Hills High School and St. John’s University.

Alex has worked in the marketing/advertising business for over 30 years. He started in the newspaper industry, and now works in direct mail & digital advertising.

He and is wife have been members of The Church In The Gardens since 2000. In 2005, he joined the Church’s World Service Committee which he has chaired for the past 4 years. His responsibilities include scheduling meetings, organizing agendas, helping to decide which charitable organizations to help and helping to arrange and hold various fundraising projects, etc., for these organizations. Some of the charitable organizations which The Church In The Gardens World Service Committee helps are: Queens Federation of Churches, Briarwood Family Shelter, Dayspring Ministries, Face 2 Face Aids, Hunt’s Point Alliance For Children, Free Lunch In The Park (FLIP), Jas D’ Jor, NY Blood Center, among others.
The Committee, in cooperation with other churches and synagogues in Forest Hills, sponsors community-wide food drives each year to support the Federation’s Emergency Food Service among other organizations.

Alex is married to his wife Dianne since 1981. They have a son Alex III.
