The Reverend Owen E. Williams

Pastor Owen E. Williams is the Pastor of the St. Mark missionary Baptist church for the last six years. He spent his formative years in Washington, DC, where he lived with his mother, sister and grandparents.

He completed his junior and high school years in Miami, Florida, where he graduated from Miami Killian Senior High School in 1981. After high school he played junior college basketball at Miami Dade Community College where he was offered a two year basketball scholarship. Pastor Williams’ mother sent him to New York after the McDuffie riots devastated the city of Miami where he was able to find consistent employment as a healthcare administrator, while simultaneously earning both his Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees.

Pastor Williams joined the Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church in 1990 under the leadership of Pastor Charles E. Betts, Sr. After a few years of running from the Lord, Pastor Williams in 1998 accepted his call to the ministry, and joined Bishop Betts, Sr. on the widely popular Sunday morning broadcast Morning Meditation on WTHE 1520. The Lord blessed the union of these two men in ministry and the program became one of the most popular radio shows on the station. In 2003 Pastor Williams was licensed by Bishop Betts, Sr., as a minister of the Gospel. He was then ordained in 2004 by Bishop Betts, Sr.

By God’s grace Pastor Williams has been able to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in Johannesburg, South Africa, and in the mid-western and northeastern United States. He has ordained two elders and one deacon in the ministry, implemented outreach, food, clothing and health fair programs and is the author of The Corporate Christian: Christian beliefs vs. Corporate Behaviors, a book he wrote in 2011 and was published in 2012. He is married to Elder Debora Williams for over 22 years, and they have one daughter in college, Desiree Rose.
