Edna & Charles Jenkins
Edna Elizabeth Jenkins was born in Brooklyn, New York.
Her Father was a real estate broker and her mother was a community worker.
In her early years, she was reared in St. Benedict the Moor Roman Catholic
Church. She received her education in the public school system, graduating
from Forest Hills High School and from the College of New Rochelle. She
was active in the Town Hall Civic Association and is a devoted member
of the Protestant Chapel at Kennedy Airport. Edna is a strong supporter
of her husband in his Christian endeavors.
Charles Spencer Jenkins was born in Sanford, Florida,
the son of an African Methodist Episcopal Church minister and a musical
Mother. He began singing at the age of 5, and God has blessed him to celebrate
over 76 years of singing. He received his formal education in the public
school system of Florida, Bethune Cookman College in Florida, and City
College of New York. He is well know as a tenor soloist in the greater
New York metropolitan area. He has been a member of Allen A.M.E. Church
for over 40 years. He has served as an officer and a member of the Music
Department. He has served as soloist at the Protestant Chapel at Kennedy
Airport for over 20 years. He and his wife Edna will celebrate 52 years
of marriage on January 30. He is a living example of just how "Good"
God is!
