The NEXUS of Queens – Now in its 10th Year!

The dictionary defines NEXUS as a tie or link, a means of connection. So it is that the Queens Federation of Churches will seek to "link" all God's people together in a common quest for peace with justice.

Accurate information is absolutely essential for the multitude of God's people to come to a common understanding and commitment to live together in peace with justice. The often egregious omissions of the general media in presenting accurate facts in context — especially with respect to issues of faith, morals and values — is the classic result of putting profit ahead of prophet.

The NEXUS of Queens began publication in printed newspaper format on Easter Sunday 2000 and it appeared tri-weekly in an effort to present significant general news with a moral and ethical perspective based on the simple premise that all of us living in God's household are members of the one family of God. This fundamental reality must necessarily inform the way we make decisions, structure our affairs and relate to one another. We feature coverage of the significant and creative ministry that enriches our daily lives and the lives of our neighbors, but which is pushed off the pages of other papers by the endless repetitions of obsequious political press releases.

Beginning October 2002, The NEXUS of Queens went online, here at the web site of the Queens Federation of Churches. Now in our 10th year of publication (8th year online), our online archives contain over 8,000 news articles which can be searched via the Index to Archive.

We invite your submissions, including "Letters to the Editor" (preferably by e-mail, addressed to us at nexus@QueensChurches.org). Items will be used subject to editorial judgment.
