ST. PATRICK'S DAY JAZZ with the Paul Joseph Quartet will be featured on Sunday, March 23, 1 p.m. You’ll hear inspiring instrumental jazz renditions of Irish favorites such as “Danny Boy,” “When Irish Eyes are Smiling,” “Red Is the Rose,” “The Minstrel Boy” and many others. April 2 – Honoring the Human Spirit in Alzheimers
A free seminar on Connecting to the Spirit in People with Alzheimers will be offered Wednesday, April 2, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Flushing House, 38-20 Bowne Street, Flushing. You are invited to join in a discussion of how faith communities can respond to members and friends with Alzheimers. The keynote speaker, Rev. Gregory Johnson, is Director of Community Outreach for Emblem Health. Rev. Johnson will explore this difficult disease and consider how we honor the divine spirit present in each one of us as we interact with those who confront Alzheimers disease in communities of faith. The annual Bishop Wright Aviation Industry Awards Luncheon will be held at Russo's on the Bay, Wednesday, April 9, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sponsored by Christ for the World Chapel at JFK International Airport, the Chapel will honor three individuals as it marks the 50th anniversary of its ministry at JFK. Peoples First Baptist Church will host a Church Leaders & Youth Conference in SE Queens at Occasions Banquet Hall, 127-08 Merrick Blvd Springfield Gardens, NY.
