"Replacing Greed With Justice" – the 8th annual Labor-Religion Coalition Forty-Hour Fast – begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday and end at noon Friday. At noon Thursday, there will be an Interfaith Vigil to support low-waged home healthcare works at the offices of the Allen Healthcare Corporation, 175-20 Hilliside Avenue, Jamaica. The closing Interfaith Service and Breaking of the Fast will be at noon Friday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 521 West 126th Street, Harlem. The program, open to the public, will be held at 74 Trinity Place, Manhattan, from 1 to 5 p.m. FCC Commissioner Michael J. Copps will provide "An Update: The FCC, Mass Media and the Public Interest." Dr. Randall Balmer, Barnard College Professor of American History, will address: "Finding a Voice: Evangelicals, the Media, the FCC and the Reconfiguration of American Protestantism."
