Interfaith Commemoration Service of 9/11, 12 noon, at the Interchurch Center, 475 Riverside Drive (at 120th Street), Manhattan, sponsored by the Commission of Religious Leaders and the Metropolitan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. ELCA Bishop Stephen Bouman will bring the message. Other participants will include a representative from the UN.

The City of New York has asked that all church bells be rung for one minute at 10:29 a.m. as a 9/11 commemoration of the moment when the second tower fell.

Interfaith 9/11 Commemoration Service, 7:00 p.m., Abyssinian Baptist Church, 132 138th Street, Harlem, sponsored by the Council of Churches of the City of New York. Principal speakers will be Greek Orthodox Archbishop Demetrios and United Methodist Bishop Ernest Lyght. Dr. Calvin O. Butts will preside.

Colleagues are invited to join the AGO Chapter at a local restaurant between the events. There will be a free will offering and a Reception after the recital. The "Spirit of America," the annual fair of the United Methodist Church of Richmond Hill, 107th Avenue at 112th Street. Dinner on Friday Night will be Pot Roast and served at 6:00 PM and on Saturday there will be a Multicultural Dinner served at 5:00 PM. Tickets for both dinners will be priced at $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for children. After each dinner an Auction will be held. Pipe Organ Encounter for Young People, noon to 2 p.m., at Faith Chapel, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center; enter from Winchester Boulevard between Union Turnpike and Hillside Avenue. The Queens Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is pleased to present a fun and educational program for young people. The person that built and installed the pipe organ in Faith Chapel will show how the King-of-Instruments operates. Chapter members will explain the organ console and demonstrate the families of sound. Refreshment will be provided. Middle Eastern Christians of New York, an educational program, 9 am - 4 pm at the Interfaith Center of New York, 40 East 30 Street (Between Park and Madison). Middle Eastern Christians of New York is the fifth in the series of daylong educational programs on living faith traditions in New York, specifically designed to inform religious and community leaders about important religious communities in the City. This event offers an introduction to many New York's Middle Eastern Christian communities, their rich history, social concerns, and cultural heritage - through conversation, art, music, and ritual.
