Taiwan Church Press and Taichung Presbytery recently co-led a praise and worship camp on August 1619, 2010. The camp drew 450 youths from Presbyterian churches across Taiwan who came to Tainan for some spiritual and music training.

This is the 5th time the camp has been held and this year's highlight included new seminars for youths interested in saxophone and street dance taught by professionals. There were also seminars on how to lead worship, as well as bass, guitar, drums, keyboard, sound system workshops and more.

The highlight of this camp was training young participants on how to work with one another and lead a congregation in worship. There were a few small presentations on the last day of the camp for youths to practice what they'd learned.

One staff member who'd worked with youths throughout the past few camps observed that participants usually developed a greater sense of maturity and responsibility after having attended this camp, preparing them to return to their churches and serve with renewed passion.

Besides understanding the true meaning of worship, youths also learned about their identity and calling within their churches and why they should serve God and their churches.

Many youths who were never regularly involved in church ministries before this camp have become passionate Christians afterwards and regular helpers in their own church's music ministries.

According to the camp's director, Pastor Cheng Che-yu, the ultimate goal of this praise and worship camp is to help churches train their youths for music ministries and help youths become God's servants in the field of music.
