It's been 5 years since Shihlin Presbyterian Church in Taipei established a children's troupe as part of a summer project led by several church staffs who are school teachers. This team of educators is promoting "Dreams of a Dandelion" this year, a musical replete with captivating dance, songs, cool props, costumes, and a plotline they wrote themselves.

Performers in this musical are children aged 7 to 14 and a few performances were held in public schools and churches in Chiayi area on July 31 and August 1, 2010. The performers were brilliant during the musical and drew cheers and applause from the audience during their performance. The troupe had 2 more performances scheduled in Taipei area on August 78.

"Dreams of a Dandelion" tells the story of a young boy who was separated from his mother because she worked in a far away city. The young boy was brought to Dandelion Boarding School by his mother where he met other young children who came from broken families as well.

Every child at Dandelion craved love and affection and it was the only thing they dreamed about all the time. Teachers at Dandelion used the flower to teach children about the fragility and meaning of life. They told the children that though dandelions may seem fragile, they can survive and bloom because they're resilient against adversity.

According to reports, this children's troupe from Shihlin Church is made up of smart, young children and nearly 90% of them come from non-Christian backgrounds.
