MECC Trains on Nursing Skills

The Middle East Council of Churches Unit on Education & Leadership Development (ELD)/Women Program in Egypt (ELD) organized a training workshop in Beit Eil – the Nile Delta of Cairo – Egypt (16 – 19 October) on "improving the performance of various nursing skills."

The workshop was organized in cooperation with nursing associations and people such as Dr Khalil Anton. 100 nurses and nursing assistant both men and women whom they are working in Christian hospitals and serving all the population participated in the training workshop and came from the different regions of Egypt (Cairo – Alexandria – Tanta – Banha- Menouf – Ismailia – Port Said – Qalubia – Beni Suwef – Giza – Sohag – Asyout – Minya and Aswan).

MECC General Secretary addressed the participants with opening welcoming words. Present also was ELD Assistant Director who presented a Biblical reflection. The workshop tackled issues related to: rehabilitation of drug addicts and methods of treatment and healing; ethics of nursing from a Christian perspective, infertility in male and female, prevention of pollution and disposal of waste, reproductive health through all the ages.
