Wall Named Rainbow Acres Ambassador

December 4, 2007

VALLEY FORGE, PA – Evy Wall was recently commissioned as a Rainbow Acres' Ambassador for Kansas during services at Prairie Baptist Church, Prairie, Kansas. Rainbow Acres is a non-profit, assisted living facility for adults with developmental disabilities, and is located in Camp Verde, Arizona. It is a member of American Baptist Homes and Caring Ministries, and has earned an EAGLE accreditation (which is an accreditation commission of the United Methodist Association of Health & Welfare Ministries).

Dr. Patrick Pang, Rainbow's senior vice president for Advancement and Church Relations, and his wife Rose, were present for the special service. "This really is a synergy of mission," Pang said. "We're extremely pleased Evy has accepted this commissioning, bringing her broad range of experiences and talents to this mission field."

As Ambassador, Wall will represent Rainbow Acres at her local church and at American Baptist Women's (ABW) meetings in the Central Region. Wall has a history of stellar church service, having served as the first female moderator of her church and as the ABW president for American Baptist Churches of the Central Region.

Wall has a deep love for the Ranchers (residents) of Rainbow Acres and is a strong supporter of Rainbow's ministry. She served for a year on Rainbow's Board of Trustees, and she organized a "linen shower" for four of its new houses. The fresh linens helped make the Ranchers feel right at home from the very start.

"I'll do all that I'm able to faithfully represent Rainbow and the Ranchers," says Wall. "I feel blessed to have this opportunity to share Rainbow's story with others. The Ranchers' stories, and who they are as people, made a connection with me, and I'll do my best to help others make that special heartfelt connection so that they too will be motivated to help make the Ranchers' lives brighter and happier."

The Wall family tree is nourished by roots of strong and vibrant humanitarian service. Wall's husband, Leonard, and both of their sons, Terry and Lewis, are distinguished doctors. Leonard was recently honored by having a lab named after him at Saint Luke's Hospital's Ellen J. Hockaday Center for Women's Care. Terry performed a groundbreaking surgical procedure, and Lewis just served two weeks on a Mercy Ship.

Rainbow Acres' President and CEO, Gary Wagner, served as youth pastor at Prairie Baptist while the Wall children were growing up in the 70s.
