A "teleseminar" to explore the impact of religion on global communication will be conducted June 8 in cooperation with the Religion Communicators Council and the Public Relations Society of America.
Persons can enroll in the 90-minute telephone seminar, which will be 2 p.m. EDT, 11 a.m. PDT, by downloading a registration form at http://www.religioncommunicator.org/. The registration deadline is 24 hours prior to the call.
Participants will learn about the world of Islam and efforts in the U.S. and elsewhere to diffuse tensions through civic and inter-faith dialogue.
Teleseminar leaders are Wesley "Pat" Pattillo, associate general secretary of the National Council of Churches USA for communication; Dr. Sayyid M. Syeed, secretary general of the Islamic Society of North America; Dr. John Esposito, founding director, Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding; Renee Ahee, founder of Ahee Communications; and Dr. Donn J. Tilson, associate professor of public relations at the University of Miami.
