VALLEY FORGE, Pa. - In the wake of the Iraqi
conflict the observance of American Baptist Peace Sunday on May
4 is especially timely.
National Ministries' Office of Reconciliation
Ministries has developed resources to aid American Baptist congregations
in planning worship services, retreat events and Bible studies that
examine peace as a concept and what it means today. This year's
Web-based resources-with the theme "Seek peace and pursue it" (Psalm
34:14)-include a meditation and a litany in Spanish, along with
links to complementary Web sites that offer an order of worship,
appropriate hymns and poems, and suggested actions individuals can
take to encourage the pursuit of peace.
American Baptist Peace Sunday resources, appropriate
for any Sunday the occasion may be observed, are available at National
Ministries' Web site: http://www.nationalministries.org/mission/reconciliation/peacepacket.cfm.
