Organization and Governance

of the Queens Federation of Churches

The Queens Federation of Churches is governed by an Assembly which is a representative body of Delegates from member congregations. The Assembly meets each November, exercising responsibility to:

• Elect congregations to membership.

• Elect Officers and members of the Board of Directors who serve without compensation as agents of the Assembly to direct the ministry of the Federation.

• Receive reports of the Federation's program and ministry.

• Adopt an annual Budget and set a Fair Share rate, a per capita asking by which member congregations meet the Federation's fiscal needs.

The Board of Directors establishes and supervises the work of committees organized to coordinate the ecumenical ministry of the Federation. Major Program Units under which the several committees are organized are Church & Society, Discipleship, Pastoral Care, and Management.

The Executive Director, as CEO, devotes full time leadership to the ecumenical ministry of the Queens Federation of Churches. The Office (86-17 105th Street, Richmond Hill, one block north of Jamaica Avenue) is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
